Powered by GoogleSo far I really like the J. I have never joined a gym or facility like this before so I am quite impressed with everything I’ve seen so far. Not quite a month that I’ve been a member and I have only used the pool and whirlpool so far. I found that Sunday morning is the best time for me to go and be able to swim and exercise in the pool without many people around. Everyone is very friendly so no complaints there. I would like to know more about procedures regarding the pool. The membership is a little more than I can really afford but I think it will be worth it in the long run. I would like some guidance on how to navigate my membership, signing up for classes and information about special events etc.
I love walking into the J! From the moment I check until the moment I walk back out the door I am treated wonderfully by staff and members alike. Whether working out with friendly people on the wide selection of exercise equipment or working in the pool with Stephanie or Phil, the experience is always pleasant and uplifting. The JCCA is incredible!
The J is a lovely place to workout. It's always clean and the staff is super friendly. I love the group exercise classes and have met a lot of new friends playing pickleball. The app makes it easy to check in and get important alerts. The J has a lot to offer.
Management continues to fall short. The locker rooms constantly have multiple lockers that are not working due to dead batteries, and this issue has been ongoing for a long time. It’s frustrating to pay for a membership and repeatedly deal with basic facilities not being maintained properly. Lockers are a fundamental part of the gym experience, yet many are unusable. This reflects poor management and a lack of attention to member needs
I recently visited the JCC in Saint Louis, MO, and my experience was quite disappointing. 1. Dirty Facilities: The men’s locker room was in terrible condition—it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. The showers were not well-maintained, and there was no towel service available. 2. Broken Amenities: The sauna and steam room were both out of order and smelled terribly. The hot tub was almost black with scum and the water was filthy. When I notified the staff about this, I was met with an indifferent response. They simply said, “Oh, well, we are closing soon,” despite it being only 4:45 PM and the facility closing at 6 PM (on the weekend). 3. Unpleasant Staff: Unfortunately, the staff were not very friendly. I witnessed some staff members also being rude to other members, which added to the overall negative experience. Overall, the poor condition of the facilities and the lack of customer service make this a place I wouldn’t recommend. It’s clear that management needs to address these issues to improve the experience for members. Save your time and money this place isn’t worth it.
