I would like to share a concern regarding an interaction my mother experienced with Mr. Kevin McCarthy at the tennis center. During her visit, my mother, who is 66 years old and Mexican, felt uncomfortable with the way she was spoken to. She expressed that Mr. McCarthy repeatedly emphasized that he could not understand her English and made comments about her way of speaking. The tone and manner in which this was communicated gave her the impression of discomfort and a lack of patience toward her accent as a Spanish-speaking person. Given her age, she also felt particularly vulnerable in the interaction. The experience made her feel embarrassed about her English and discouraged her from enrolling in the course, even though she needs it for health-related reasons.

I had a very disappointing experience with a coach at Coral Springs Tennis Center, Greg Russell, and feel it’s important to share for other parents considering their programs. As the class was wrapping up and I was passing by, I observed the coach speaking with the director and expressing frustration, stating that he could not continue teaching the class due to the children’s behavior. In that moment, as I walked past, he directed a comment toward me in a very disrespectful and aggressive tone, saying that I needed to make sure my child behaves. After the class, I spoke with several other parents in the parking lot and they supported my perspective and confirmed that my child had been standing in his place the entire time and was not playing around. At most, he touched a cone once or twice, which does not justify the level of frustration or the manner in which I was addressed. I followed up with an email describing the incident, hoping for accountability. Instead, the next time I attended, Greg denied the entire interaction, even when I had the director as a witness. There was no apology, only defensiveness. The tennis director did acknowledge the situation and apologized, recognizing that the behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional. However, Greg himself never took responsibility. His attitude came across as dismissive and entitled, and he showed a lack of emotional control that is concerning especially when working with very young children. Expecting 4 year olds to stand still for long periods (sometimes 10+ minutes between turns) is unrealistic and goes directly against the program’s stated goal of being fun and engaging. What was advertised as a positive, introductory experience simply did not match reality. After this experience, I chose to withdraw my child and request a refund. I would strongly encourage other parents to carefully consider whether this environment aligns with what is promised. Respect, patience, and professionalism are essential when working with children and unfortunately, that was not demonstrated here.

Nice facility. 16 clay courts and few hard courts. Always busy in the morning. During weekend tournaments. US never going to win any grandslams anymore, unless somebody from other country will play for this corrupted country. To get real champion, you have to work hard, but to work hard you have to pay your leaving, so it is really not possible work hard on the court and getting food, home, car, travel money. Yes, reach people can do it, but does they want to? Off course not, why you have to work hard, if you already have money!? So this country will never win anything. Ohhh.. yeah, tell me about Williams sisters, if it wasnt they father, they will be never ever any champs, read they book, he was poor and worked hard, untill he got money from sponsors. And dont remind me Agassi, also father and a lot of money. Good luck america with your capitalism. Yeah, about this facility it is really good, but in order to get more money, they changed format and play not real tennis. It is why I'm putting one star, not because of good facility, but because it is really sad for the sport in USA.
