I'm 16 turning 17 in September. I've danced at TC Dance since I was about 7 or 8 years old. I danced there for about 10 years. I had 2 years left but I decided to quit early. I love dance and have a passion for it still. I simply didn't like the company I was dancing at. They have good teachers and good choreography .The dances are great unless your not in competition. When I was little it was fun dancing there but as I got older i began to realize things. As I got older around the time I got in 9th grade I started to feel frustrated. Both of my friends had gotten moved into Dance Force and I was left behind. One of them being younger than me. I got placed in class with a girl who had less experience than me and younger. I felt out of place and dance no longer became fun. I wanted to more mature dances for my age group and use my experience and grow. I felt like I had just been missed and forgotten. It happened again 10th grade year too. I asked them if maybe 11th grade year I could do a duet or solo because I wanted to do more mature dances and they said to write it down when I sign up and maybe they could make that happen. I had perfect attendance for 8 years of being there except the 2 years my grandfather was in the hospital and he's the one who took/payed for my dance. I asked questions and tried hard. I'm almost 17 and I am tired of doing childish dances and staying in the same place. Dance is to learn and have fun. I was no longer doing either. It's like if your not in competition and don't have money you don't matter. Only the competition girls matter because they're the ones who make the money for the company. They spend more time on them and better choreography. My parents pay a lot of money to go watch my recital but for what? To watch me dance a 2 or 3 minute dance while the competition girls get to perform dances they have already performed at competitions. We only get 1 dance and half the time there isn't that much effort put into it. I got put with girls who aren't even close to my age group because I wasn't a competitor. Even I had been asked I couldn't have done it because my family can't afford all that. So no I don't recommend TC Dance unless you have a lot of money because that's all they seem to care about. I know I am not the only person who thinks that. I've had 2 friends who quit for the same reasons and I have had other people also say that. My grandparent's definitely didn't get their money's worth. That's why I will no longer be attending TC Dance and hopefully find somewhere else to go.

My daugter started at TC when she was 3 and this is her 4th year now. She loves dance. The teachers are great. They teach the needed skills and are friendly and welcoming. The children work so hard all year long for their recital. And recital is amazing. They have so many dancers and competing dancers that they have 3 shows for recital. Otherwise it would be a 9 hour show! The talent of the dances they teach is amazing!
