Powered by GoogleWorking with Summit Journeys has been a game-changer for our youth and adult queer programming at the Utah Pride Center. Whether it's been coordinating presentations, planning group hikes, or helping us build safer emotional spaces outdoors, Summit Journeys has consistently shown up with empathy, flexibility, and intention. Our youth felt seen and supported, even the ones who usually struggle to connect in group settings. And for our queer adults, many of whom are still unlearning survival mode, the opportunity to reconnect with nature in a guided, affirming way was deeply healing. They listen, they adapt, and they hold space in a way that’s rare. I’d recommend them to any organization looking to deepen their work with LGBTQ+ communities through outdoor connection.
There are not sufficient words to express the gratitude we have for the Summit Journeys team and mission. I manage the SLCO Youth Services Residential Program Team and we were so impressed with the organization, thoughtfulness and care put into each activity. We serve clients in unique situations, that make it difficult to plan ahead as far in advance as we would like. Summit was so great about being flexible and working with us. Our kids experienced so many new things with the knowledge and support of Summit Journeys. The physical challenges of sailing, rock climbing, kayaking, completing the high ropes course, fishing, etc. helped them increase their resilience and confidence to try new things. We hope that we are able to continue working with the Summit Journeys team and hope they know how truly valuable they are!
