Overnight fine-arts camp in the Sierra Nevada at Sly Park in Pollock Pines, for students who have completed grades 5 through 11. Two one-week residential sessions run in July with about six hours of daily instruction, culminating in a showcase. Campers choose a major such as music, dance, photography, textile arts, theater, visual arts or vocal arts, plus electives like guitar, musical theater, playwriting and ukulele; registration priority goes to El Dorado County students.

Everyone there is very supportive and silly. It’s life changing really. Every single thing is just magical. From the traditions to camp songs and all the councilors, staff and campers that make you feel welcome. Even the small traditions and things everyone knows brings us all together. You make friends so quickly there and even friends that you e known for a week can become life long friends. There are so many words to explain sugar loaf. It’s really an amazing place. There is a reason that campers stay and become counselors, or teachers, or board members. This is a safe place to be yourself and grow.
