Volunteer-run nonprofit youth sports association founded in 1981 on Kings Fork Road in Suffolk, serving over 1,800 registered players across soccer, baseball, softball and field hockey on more than 25 fields the association owns itself. Soccer runs fall and spring seasons plus summer camps and clinics — its Academies & Camps listings include the Lionsbridge FC Soccer Camp and a World Cup Soccer Camp — along with winter indoor leagues and personal skills training. Players start as young as age 3 and can continue through high school in recreational, advanced and select programs, with tryouts required only for the advanced and select levels from age 8 up. SYAA is open to all skill levels, runs a Special Needs Soccer program, offers early-bird registration and publishes a scholarships page.

★Mere CepedaCame here to play with my husband because we been wanting to play soccer. We are new to town and didn’t know that the soccer field wasn’t open to the public. This man came up to us real hostile. He said he wasn’t but as he got closer I said hi and he ignored me and when my husband looked at him he said “Can I help you?” In a very hostile tone. Things got out of hand real quick. My thing isn’t that he’s upset about us being his park. My thing is the fact that he came real hostile towards us without even letting us explain. That was the first thing. SECOND THING, as we were getting in the truck to leave he was walking away too and said “yeah leave before I call ICE.” (He said he was the owner. And if anyone is wondering I blurred out the kids because they are just kids.)
★★★★★Michael BrownGreat sports facilites for the youth. Suffolk community is lucky to have such nice facilities. Adequate parking and fields look well maintained. I enjoy traveling from the western part of the Commonwealth to spend time with my family and watch the grandkids participate in sports.
★★★john whiteThe entire complex was very large. The fields were tightly packed together and some of the fields didn't have bleachers on both sides of the field. I'm not sure if there were portable toilets, but if not, the concession area was the only place for those that needed a toilet. The concession line seemed to move quickly and there was a Kona ice truck parked between fields as well. All in all, it served it's purpose & the kids had fun playing their games.

Over the years we've had the opportunity to play some good teams from around the area without the high cost of travel. The training and coaches are good and one of my sons now starts as an 8th grader on the high school team. This is a good organization to develop your kids.
