Powered by GoogleMy daughter really appreciates this learning environment. I signed her to their 'Murders in the Heir' play as she'd been turned down to join a theatre group with CSA when all of her friends were accepted. She was so heartbroken and hurt. Storybook didn't care about politics. They also didn't care that she was different than their typical student body. They allowed her to audition for any role she was interested in. She managed to get the role with the most lines, much to her chagrin. lol But she rose to the occasion and pulled it off. All of the cast did a sublime job, really. On a personal level, and important to us as a family, as my daughter is an internationally raised homeschooler, she didn't automatically fit in with this primarily home-spun, non-secular homeschool group. There were some rough spots based on cultural differences, but they rose above their pre-conceived notions of how a teen should present and treated her just like any other young person. My daughter moderated and they expanded where each embraced and appreciated the other. Super nice people there! Know Before You Go => This is a hands on learning theatre production environment! It's the homeschool's "Just Do It" approach we prefer. Parents are expected to volunteer on some level. Really once one is there, one wants to volunteer. A cheerful, kind, interconnected, Helping Hands type camaraderie is the environment they foster. Quite lovely, actually. The folks are wonderful in situ theatre educators and really know their stuff. It's all positive! We'll sign our teen up as often as we can. 🥰 To the Public => Take the Family to see these productions. They really are quiet good, especially the older group productions (12-18). The students work very hard to put on great shows. Inexpensive, great theatre for a relaxing evening. You could call them Off Broadway level (have a little over 100 seats). The audience is casual dress, (for now). I expect they will be growing because these kids are very talented. Enjoy!
My experience at Storybook was amazing! I loved the balance of music and dace during the one week camp! I will definitely be back for another show!
I cannot rave about Storybook enough! From the teachers, parents, and students everyone is so welcoming and ready to share their love of theater. Storybook is the perfect mix of seriousness and fun! 10/10. I actually live quite far from their location but it's worth every minute of the drive.
We love Storybook Theatre! The shows are amazing, great staff, my kids have been in productions and learned a lot while also making friends, and having a lot of fun! The productions are very well done. Highly recommend enrolling your kids or just going to enjoy shows for fun! You won't be disappointed
My kids LOVE Storybook Theatre. They always ask to sign up for more. Julie and her staff are fun and relaxed, but also know how to get these kids down to business. It is a very inclusive environment. We love the small class sizes where everyone gets a part. I love watching everyone's skills and confidence grow from session to session.
