Beware! It was a hassle dealing with the owner trying to cancel my membership. He relies on trapping people into contracts to make money, not providing a superior service. This gym is run down and smells bad.

I have been going to this club for over a year and I use the workout equipment primarily and a few times have been to the outdoor pool. The equipment is exactly what I need to rotate my workouts and everyone (patrons and staff) are very friendly. The outdoor pool is beautiful. Unlike other clubs with longer hours, this club is a bit limited but it has never interfered with my schedule and works perfect for my workday. I also love that this is a local gym rather than a chain so I can support the community. I give this gym 5 stars!

Affordable and very friendly place. Really great club with so many options: the gym (has lots of machines, weights, etc.), exercise classes (with absolutely amazing, kind and talented instructors), tennis courts, pickle ball, indoor and outdoor pool! So thankful for the club and everyone there!

In our close to one year of membership since moving to Spartanburg, we have been disappointed with how this facility is run. It seems to be more of a social club and hobby rather than a well run business. We have reached out on multiple occasions with questions or concerns and not once have we gotten a response. I have personally called and left a message with the “manager” as I was told to do and never received a call back. My husband has emailed with concerns about classes advertised as one thing and then being randomly switched by the instructor to a different class. He has waited twenty minutes outside when the facility is supposed to be open for someone to arrive to open. Alarms in the pool have been ignored by staff. I am not sure if the owners/managers actually care to address any concerns. We have reached out in multiple ways before finally posting this review. We are currently researching other options for our family to try to avoid renewing for a second year. We have realized how lucky we were with the two facilities we joined in Virginia because unlike Spartanburg Athletic, they were well run businesses that cared about and responded to members to make improvements as needed.

I workout here. My son plays tennis. And my daughter dances. We love it. The people are nice. The activities are awesome.
