I just joined, and I had a very friendly receptionist, very helpful and informative. I love the hot tub and sauna being in the locker room. I love the warm pool. Only thing I dont like is that classes seem to take over alot of the pool space. I also would of liked a tour because it took my son 45 minutes to make it out of the locker room, because he couldn't find the pool entrance door! I even had staff look for him! He finally found me. Other then that, i'm pretty happy so far.

I hesitate to leave a One-star review because as a whole, the Y is generally a great place. My issue is with one of the children's gymnastics programs. One instructor in particular is unfit to work with the age group of the class. Her expectations that the children stand still and be quiet for long periods of time is ridiculous. But then she'll stand there and talk non stop to the other instructors about anything other than the class. She gets easily frustrated and physically handles the children bordering on too rough. I initially accepted this behavior because the other instructors were great but I stopped taking my child recently. She bumped her head not really hard but enough for her to lay on the ground and cry. The bad instructor's reaction; laugh and walk the other way while a more apathetic instructor aided my child. I have it on video. If anyone at the Y would like to see it, feel free to reach out.

I love my YMCA family. I have been coming here for 5 years. I have met a lot of interesting and unique members. Always time for a laugh and smile from the joke of the day board. I enjoy my time at the Y utilizing the pool and hot tub! If you are interested in joining the SW Y, stop and see the Membership Director Jaimie Sponder, she is so helpful, kind, and understanding. I The building is kept very clean and is ADA friendly!

I have never in my entire life been so disrespected. The lady at the front desk on May 2, 2025 at 4 o’clock was extremely rude to me and my children. I believe her name is Sharon. She would not let two of my daughters enter due to confusion with our membership. We were here for swim lessons that I paid for Due to her, not having enough knowledge to look us up without our cards, we missed our swim lessons. The YMCA has definitely gone downhill. I know racism when I’m experiencing it and this definitely was it

Recently joined again, after a many year hiatus from the Y. Joining process online was great, and staff are friendly and helpful. Not very crowded, throughout all areas, especially the gym, and ample space to get a workout done. Need to update the equipment in the cardio room, have more standards, with the clientele and update the space and technology, like the TV’s, and more high demand machines. Machines are covered in dust, and look like they haven’t been properly cleaned in awhile. The place was swarming with kids, like it was a daycare center, and needs more control. Could also use a reduction in tread mills and more elliptical machines, added, with screens above or separating them in the middle. Was most dissatisfied with the fact that the locker room didn’t look very clean, and had the same carpet and beat up lockers, since they made the adult male locker room, 20+ years ago, which makes me concerned about cleanliness as a whole. Excited about my return, and to explore the plethora of classes offered. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend others to join, but the price it outrageous for a treading water facility. I canceled after my first month back, and won’t be back.
