For my first time going, the ladies at the counter were outstanding and kind on helping me set up a profile. I took a swim in the pool during free swim hours and it was very clean, water was cozy, and so nice to enjoy. The life guard was even kind too. Womens locker rooms were very clean, showers worked great and had plenty of warm water. We will be returning!

I have been a member of this YMCA location since March 2022. For nearly four years, I have paid my membership consistently and have worked out here regularly without incident. Today, that changed — and not in a good way. While stretching before my workout, I was approached by a personal trainer named Joe and told that my outfit was “inappropriate” and that I needed to “find a shirt to cover up.” I was further told that “this is a family establishment, not LA Fitness” and that “there are kids here.” I have attached an image of what I was wearing here. I have worn similar workout sets for years at this location without ever being approached or warned. I was informed that the rule is “not always equally enforced,” but that next time I could be asked to leave. That inconsistency is exactly the problem. If there is a dress code, it should be clearly communicated and consistently enforced. Selective enforcement feels arbitrary at best and discriminatory at worst. The language in the written policy — particularly regarding clothing that “accentuates body parts” — reads as disproportionately targeting women’s athletic wear. It is inherently sexist, focused primarily on women. This sexist language is disgusting and embarrassing on part of the YMCA. What made the situation more uncomfortable was what happened afterward. When I asked the front desk for a manager’s contact information, another staff member immediately appeared with a printed copy of my original 2022 membership agreement, clearly having already been briefed on the situation. The entire interaction felt coordinated and adversarial rather than customer-focused. There was no attempt to listen, de-escalate, or acknowledge my four years of loyalty. When I ultimately said I would cancel my membership, there was no effort to retain me — just an indifferent “okay.” Membership prices have steadily increased while locations have closed and group classes have been reduced. After this experience, the value simply no longer matches the cost. I expect better professionalism, consistency, and respect from an organization that brands itself as community-centered and family-oriented.

I love this Y! My family and I have been going here since we became Y members 5 years ago. Rodney at the front desk is always welcoming and very warm and friendly - his smile makes me happy every time I pass by! My kids love the childcare while I workout, or when my mother in law comes to the Y on the days she is babysitting. My kids have been in Y sports, dance and swim classes throughout the years - coaches and instructors are so caring. This place keeps my whole family healthy and happy!

I just love coming to this YMCA location! And the front desk folks are AWESOME!... Gayle, Yolanda, Lois and Marsha are soooo helpful and attentive. They just do so many things to make our experience enjoyable. THANK YOU, LADIES! ♥️♥️♥️ My favorite instructor is Tammie Real. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in leading the classes.
