Serious Concerns for Parents to Consider As a parent, I believe it’s important to speak up when behavior raises red flags—especially when it involves the safety and well-being of young people. We had a troubling experience involving private, disappearing-message communication between a male adult in a position of authority and female teenage participants. When my child voiced concerns about this behavior, not only was she dismissed—she was punished. Instead of being supported for doing the right thing, she was made to feel isolated and responsible for the fallout. Even after I brought the issue directly to leadership and set clear expectations, the inappropriate communication continued with another teen. When it was raised again, it was met with defensiveness, blame, and excuses from adults who should have known better. This is not about rumors—this is about firsthand experience. If you’re a parent considering involvement here, I urge you to ask questions, stay involved, and pay close attention to how concerns are handled. Every child deserves a safe, respectful environment—and every parent deserves transparency.
