Powered by GoogleGreat experience with Riptide trainers! Our son has benefited a lot from lessons and clinics with Riptide. They are attentive, thoughtful and well organized. Private lessons are productive and they do a good job of focusing on a limited number of things at a time to enable kids to grasp and implement what they're learning. Clinics move quickly, which is essential to keep kids engaged. They instruct well and push the kids in a positive way to do their best. We're enjoying Riptide and appreciate what they provide for the local baseball community.
My Grandsons first yr & he likes the academy! They teach the mechanics of baseball which is great. Coaches are VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE & GREAT with the kids.
We’ve played with Riptide over the past year and have had an excellent experience. We really enjoy all the coaches (former collegiate players) and it’s easy to schedule lessons online and/or join camps & workouts. One of the best parts is this not daddy ball and the coaches push players to develop while enjoying the game. The training facility has a lot to offer as well. Corey and team, keep up the great work. We appreciate having a great organization, training facility and a diverse group of coaches in the Bull City!!
Very cool place, old Durham vibe with all the modern bells and whistles and our daughter loves it!! Highly recommend!
This review is specific to the travel team experience with Riptide. PROS: You will get lots of reps, they do a good job of booking time nearly year round for each team. This includes both indoor and outdoor reps. They are fairly well organized and do a pretty good job of booking tournaments that make sense for the entire team. You'll get 20-22 games in each season. CONS: Experience level of the 'paid' coaches will vary. Mostly ex college players who were good at playing baseball, but doesn't necessarily mean they are good coaches. Coaches are there to run drills and run games. Don't expect much specific coaching and feedback for your player. We only received one formal evaluation from our coach in the 3 seasons we played, and it was very lightweight and un-actionable. One liners with baseball buzzwords.
