Replay Music School (RePlay Music Studios) in Greenwich Village runs weeklong summer rock-band camps for ages 8-18, Monday-Friday 1-5 p.m. (afternoon/half-day). Campers are placed in bands and coached to collaborate, write and arrange original rock and pop music and learn favorite songs, performing at a Tribeca club at the end of the week. School-break camps are also offered.

The shows are amazing, the (good) material is selected by the kids, the instructors are exactly the right mix of pro and fun, challenge and encouragement. Any kid would grow from this program, but my daughter --a kid who is a bit different from her peers-- especially has learned to literally get on a stage, be herself and be proud of what a band can do together. My son has also been a client in their virtual band program over the last year. I was very happy when I discovered that they provide 1:1 lessons for adults (not just kids). I had been using Logic frequently over the last year, but I was still baffled by many aspects and wanted to step up my game. My virtual lessons with Alex via Zoom have been very productive and fun. Alex is a skilled, patient teacher and has been great at helping me execute on my ideas. His knowledge is deep and he has demystified many aspects of Logic (it can be complex as it's a very powerful suite of tools). This has allowed me to move faster and more independently in the creative process. Alex has become a valued resource and collaborator for me when I've needed it. I look forward to each weekly lesson and to sharing my work with him.
