I am the mother of one of the children who participated in Camp Jack at the Renaud Center during the last week of May. Unfortunately, it was not a positive experience for my daughter. Initially, I dismissed some concerns she mentioned about another child being mean to her, assuming it was typical age-appropriate behavior that children sometimes encounter. However, on the last day of camp, I was able to pick her up myself. A family friend had dropped her off and picked her up on the previous days, so I was unaware of earlier incidents. Throughout the week, my daughter repeatedly felt left out and struggled to feel like she belonged. As a single mother, I work very hard, and paying for camp was not easy. Despite the cost, I wanted my daughter to have a fun, positive experience after the school year ended. I believe I spoke with a manager regarding these concerns, and he explained that the staff members were young and still learning. While I understand that perspective, I also worked in education for many years, and addressing conflicts among young children is not particularly difficult. Ensuring that children feel safe, included, and respected often requires only simple interventions such as: "Excuse me, we don't speak to our friends at camp that way. Here are some better words to use. Please don't use that language again." Or: "Let's make sure everyone gets a chance to play." Or even: "Why don't you come join me in this activity?" Correcting unkind behavior takes very little effort. When adults choose not to address it, however, it can create an environment where children feel that excluding others or speaking disrespectfully is acceptable. I also spoke with my daughter about resilience, letting small things go, moving forward, and finding other activities when situations do not go her way. I encouraged her not to let isolated incidents ruin her day. However, when parents are paying for a service, there should be a reasonable expectation of accountability, supervision, professionalism, and care. While I was initially angry, what I ultimately felt most was sadness. This was my daughter's first experience at Camp Jack, and it was disappointing that it left her feeling excluded and unsupported. My hope is that the Renaud Center and camp staff will reflect on this feedback and be more mindful of vulnerable children who may need help making friends, joining activities, or feeling included. Kindness, compassion, and proactive supervision can make a tremendous difference in a child's experience. As a parent, all I want is to know that my child is being cared for when I place her in someone else's hands. I hope you will use this feedback as an opportunity to help staff better support children who may be struggling socially or trying to engage with their peers. Additionally, my daughter never received the camp shirt that was supposed to be provided. Overall, based on our experience, I would not recommend this camp.

The facility is overall very nice. I played basketball here growing up and used the fitness area a couple times. Our family rented a room for the first time for a birthday party recently. The room was spacious, had a sink, and was very clean. The tables and chairs weee set also which was nice. However, one of the full time staff members put a sour taste in our mouths. We had 45 chairs on the contract only 35 were set however we decided we could try to manage so we were not an inconvenience. We ended up needing 3 more chairs which the lady provided no issues. A little later we needed 2 more chairs for some late guests and she stated “We just gave you more chairs…” The attitude wasn’t professional and this could have been avoided if the 45 chairs were set up prior.

I think it’s a pretty nice facility but they have some problems. For one thing they take your credit card number and when your credit card expires, you better be on top of it. I tried to re-up and give them a new credit card number and they were gonna charge me $84 for delinquency. I walked out. They could’ve had a loyal customer, but instead they chose to be hard-line about this. I had not even used my Renaud Membership in months. So they have been taking money out of my checking account every month Ladida. Then suddenly they want $84 because I’ve missed two payments when I had even been there. No thank you goodbye

Smaller then some other places, easier to keep an eye on the children. Water comfortable, not too cold. Air temperature also comfortable.

We love the renaud center! There is something for everyone here! They have an exercise room,basketball court and indoor swimming pool! They have a kids corner if needed where you can leave your child and they are supervised and provided activities while you work out or take one of their many classes or activities. There is even a preschool room there if interested. They have senior activities as well and travel opportunities with a group of peoole. They offer summer camp for kids, aerobic classes, personal trainer, outdoor soccer, t-ball, adult coed softball, volleyball, basketball ball, dance, art classes, swim lessons, tumbeling, karate, pickle ball and so much more! There are classes for kids and adults alike! They do have other special events throughout the year like dances, christmas themed activities for families, pumpkin plunge where they put a bunch of pumpkins in the pool and kids race to try to find the one their perfect one!
