Propagate Studio runs a kids' summer art camp in which campers make pottery and clay work alongside 2D art, drawing inspiration from nature, science and both master and contemporary artists. Each camp day is three hours of instruction and spots are capped at six children per age group. The studio, at 2546 NJ-57 in the Stewartsville section of Franklin Township, doubles as a community art space, art-supply thrift shop and maker market, and also hosts classes and parties.

The idea of keeping new and gently used art supplies out of landfills is brilliant. I’ve taken several classes here as well such as pottery, manifest fest, silly goose society just to name a few. Whenever I take a class, I come away with not only a new skill and/or interest but also new friends as well. The vibe is fun, welcoming, open and judgement-free. I highly recommend Propagate Studio.

But the highlight was staying the night in the ArtBnB!! What an incredible and fun space--there was so much to explore in every corner, it felt like a treasure hunt! Sam had so thoughtfully stocked the whole house for our stay, from tasty treats to toiletries. There was a clear intent for the ArtBnB to be sustainable and low-waste which I really appreciated! Tons of fun and recommended for all creative souls!!

There is truly more things available for people who sew there, and as a person who doesn’t mainly do that there wasn’t too much of interest for me. The yarn selection was great, as well as things for knitting and some paper craft stuff - truly more of a haven for textile and fiber artists but everything was so cool! The workers there were super sweet and helpful and its definitely worth a visit (they also take donations). Note on accessibility: The pay what you can shop is up a set of stairs and the space is small-ish. There is a bathroom but it is outside of the shop. Parking was easy to navigate (they have clear signage).
