Powered by GoogleThis YMCA is clean and well equipped with lot's of opportunties to take fitness classes and get personal training. The staff is friendly and helpful. Almost any kind of fitness routine can be followed at this gym. I was especially attracted by the availability of an indoor track which is great during the winter months when outdoor running is not always practical or safe. I really like going to this facility
Helpful staff, good swim instructors and decent programming. It’s also the most reasonably priced branch
I have tried to handle this privately, but after receiving no response, I am forced to escalate this issue. My membership was canceled without my knowledge or consent simply because my daughter no longer works there — something completely unrelated to my status as a paying member. I have maintained my membership for two years, regularly using the gym, enrolling my children in sports programs, and using the pool. Now I am being told I must reapply and pay another fee, even though my daughter stopped working there months ago. This is unacceptable and reflects extremely poor communication and unprofessional handling of members. I am requesting immediate correction of this matter and reinstatement of my membership without additional fees. I expect someone in management to address this promptly. A nonprofit organization should treat its members fairly and professionally. I am simply asking for my membership to be restored so my family and I can continue using the facility we have supported for years.
Had to get my grandbaby from daycare. Don't go there anymore. But was glad to see the gym is still there.
One of the smaller and rougher Y's I've been to. Most of it likely has nothing to do with the employees, who seemed great, but with funding. What appears to be the old building is split into 4 different businesses now with the Y's main entrance being some little side door. The gym is absolutely diminutive, having one squat rack and one small cable crossover machine. It does have 2 benches but no incline and no shoulder press bench. Dumbbells go up to 100, which is fine, but not impressive for a Y. The entire strength training area (including nautilus/other machines) is maybe 1,000 square feet? Very small. It's basically a home gym. All of this is fine and not necessarily a complaint, just an observation that it's tiny. I do have a complaint, however, and that is that the one non-locker-room toilet that I saw is literally supported by a couple of 2x4's nailed together (see picture). Pretty rough. Will it hold? Well, it did for now. But it looks really awful and unprofessional. All-in-all this is clearly a failing Y that will probably be shut down eventually. It's sad, as it's the only one near Pottstown and it's in a great location.
