A City of Savannah cultural arts center at 201 Montgomery St. that runs summer arts camps in performing and visual arts. Full-day arts camps serve rising 1st-6th graders in select weeks, and teen/tween programs (ages 11-17) cover pottery, jewelry making, dance, drama, and more. Registration is via CivicRec, with reduced rates for city residents.

My last time there was for the 4th Annual Black Arts Expo as a vendor. Not only did this facility allow me to meet many people and other artists who look like me, but it was great to be in a place that has a goal of offering art to the community!

The two downsides is you have to find parking (which is a normal city issue most days) and it's a smaller auditorium. It was standing room only quickly, but other than that it's a very nice building and we'll maintained.

And if you're not a student at Savannah College of Art and Design, you'll feel the "vibe" there! There's great exhibits and plays to check out also!
