Our daughter's home away from home for 10 years now, you won't find a better dance studio in the Lowcountry than Bluffton School of Dance. The level and variety of training, performance, and growth opportunities is fantastic, whether your dancer wants to pursue a career in dance or just explore the art form while having lots of fun. The lime green heart of BSOD, though, is its teachers: Dawn, Kimmi, Denise, Katie, Julie, Armando, Hannah M, Hannah, Alyssa, & Paia are the best! 💚

My daughter has been at BSOD for 3 years now, starting ballet at just 3 years old, and my middle daughter is finishing her very first year after starting at age 2. We’ve been so lucky to have Ms. Katie for ballet, tap, and acro. When we saw my older daughter had a new teacher this year, Ms. Hannah, we were excited but admittedly a little weary — because let’s be honest, filling Ms. Katie’s shoes is no easy task. But not only is my daughter thriving in her class, she actually asked to take another class with Ms. Hannah too. Both teachers are absolute superstars with young kids. You can genuinely tell they love what they do and are passionate about teaching. That energy carries over into their students, keeping them excited, engaged, and eager to learn more. I know teachers will naturally change throughout the years, but experiences like this make me confident that any teacher at BSOD will bring that same warmth and enthusiasm. And I can’t leave out Ms. Heather at the front desk — she is truly a gem. It’s always so nice to be greeted by a smiling face after the mad rush of getting out the door, under-caffeinated, with tiny girls in tutus ready to dance… and receive sparkles from Ms. Heather. She has also helped answer the many questions I’ve had over the years, both big and small. We’re so grateful to be part of the BSOD family 💚

Bluffton School of Dance has been an incredible experience for our family. My daughter has been part of BSOD for 5 years now, and she truly has the best time. Not only has she grown so much as a dancer, but she’s also developed confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of self—qualities that go far beyond the studio. The teachers are supportive, talented, and genuinely invested in each dancer’s growth. We are especially grateful for Denise LaJoie, Dawn Miller, Hannah Heilbron, Hannah Mastrud, Armando Luna, Paia Storms, and Katie McIntire for the impact they’ve had over the years. This year has been extra special as she’s had the opportunity to assist Ms. Josie’s class—she absolutely adores her and takes so much pride in being her assistant. Best studio in town! We started with Miss Katie’s mommy and me class and completely fell in love with both her and the studio. My daughter then took ballet with her all year, and we have loved every second of it. Miss Katie is fun, patient, encouraging, and genuinely welcoming to every child and family. The studio itself has such a warm and friendly atmosphere. You can tell they truly care about the kids and the community they are building. The owner is always around, knows all the kids by name, and creates such a personal and welcoming environment. We are so grateful we found this studio and cannot recommend it enough!
