Oscar Lasko YMCA and Childcare Center
Private
Summer day camp at the Oscar Lasko YMCA & Childcare Center (YMCA of Greater Brandywine) in downtown West Chester. Because it is an urban site, campers travel to the Coatesville YMCA several times a week for nature, outdoor time and swimming, and otherwise enjoy the gaga pit, creative arts, sports, field trips and in-house experiences. The branch is also a licensed childcare center for children six weeks to five years old.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Oscar Lasko YMCA and Childcare Center directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleThe Jr Basketball program is really a blast! I have very much enjoyed our experience. The playing time is fair and the coaches are great! I love the facility and the ability to work out before or after practice any day of the week.
I love this facility… The gymnastics program is awesome! One suggestion would be if you could add some treadmills for parents watching their children in the gymnastics program in the waiting area… Would definitely love to get some exercise while watching my little one!
I belong to East Chestnut Fitness (ECF) at the Oscar Lasko Y and the coaches are amazing. They individualize the workouts so all members are challenged. The community aspect of ECF is also incredible - whether you're super strong already or working on getting stronger, we support & encourage each other. I also love that this Y location is nestled right in West Chester where the programs support the community of this walkable town. The leadership puts their heart into every activity, making sure it is relevant and enjoyable for all.
Of the 100% of people who attend the gym, 90% are teenagers and children who are there just to get in the way of those who really want to work out. They play on their cell phones, shop online, make videos of people working out, play wrestling, play basketball, watch on YouTube, social media, chat in groups, sit on machines watching, do everything except the main thing, which is working out. They think the gym is an amusement park and get in the way of those who really want to exercise. My husband and I have warned the management about this countless times and nothing has been done. If you don't have time to work out, don't come to this gym, especially after 2:30. Unfortunately, our routine doesn't allow us to go to the gym all the time, but we are organizing ourselves so that this will happen soon, because if the gym values quantity, we appreciate quality.
Celeste Dragwa Affordable, and convenient times. The gymnastics program is like our daughter's second home/family. She started in the mommy and me class and now many years later is on the competitive team. We're so happy she has a safe place to grow in the sport. The ninja program allows our son to challenge himself & gives him a safe place to hang and climb other than our house walls.
