The Oberlin Community Music School, the community-education arm of Oberlin's Conservatory of Music, runs the Stradivarius Strings Summer Chamber Music Camp for string players ages 8-18. Campers are placed in chamber ensembles of two to eight players of similar age and level, receive daily coaching from a master coach and an Oberlin Conservatory student teacher, and take classes in string technique, communication, leadership and body-movement work such as Dalcroze Eurythmics, closing with a concert. It is a one-week day camp running 8:45am-3:00pm at Oberlin Conservatory; tuition is $400 and scholarship assistance is available. Students must play at Suzuki book 3+ level and read simple notes and rhythms; those new to the school submit a short audition video.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Oberlin Community Music School directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.
