Russian Orthodox youth overnight camp near Rock City, run under the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America (ROCOR) for more than 60 years. The month-long July session for campers ages 8-14 combines instruction in Russian Orthodox faith, Russian culture, history and scouting with swimming, hiking, scavenger hunts, campfires, sports and arts and crafts.

★Pasha OrlenkoNot a good experience overall for a young child. I was bullied, and one of those instances included being tied down to my cot by a COUNSELOR. As well as that most of the people in charge were abusive. They were physically and emotionally abusive. Overall the camp seemed to be more focused on military values rather than the Russian orthodox religion. A negative experience and do not recommend.
★Alex HuntThis was the absolute worst experience of my entire childhood. I went there in 2007 at 9 years old. The camp leaders were physically and emotionally abusive. I was supposed to stay there for 2 weeks but had to leave a week early due to my traumatizing experiences. Additionally, there was a bat living in my cabin which came out every night around 1 AM. To simplify, this camp’s values are hatred, abuse and humiliation. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE!
