Powered by GoogleIt’s a very nice resort; I’ve stayed there with my family twice and had a great time. We are a family of six, and we’ve rented the two-bedroom units—one with a double bed and the other with four bunks (two doubles and two singles)—which suit us perfectly. It has an ice rink and sports shops; it’s an excellent place whether you want to relax or play sports.
We just stayed here in the middle of summer. You can’t hang out in your room during the day because it’s so hot and they don’t have AC. We got little sleep right before a long drive home due to the room being so hot and needing to sleep with all the windows and doors open just to cool it down. They also didn’t disclosed that there was a resort fee upfront. When we left, we got an additional charge. They were not transparent of this prior. If you book here, know you may get an additional charge later. We will not be staying here again.
So this place just around the corner from the Regency ballroom is quaint like I like it. It’s got this very like old-school diner style. I saw I’ve been drinking and I had and I wanted something cheesy buttery and bacon. You know something grease and their grilled cheese with bacon just hit that spot it to fill that space the french fries that we got we’re kinda like home fries they reminded me of home fries. They’re hot sauce is something else it just brings it all together. It gives that that kick that you need that you want that you get and follow me on Instagram.
We didn’t stay at the resort itself, but we stayed in Truckee and came to Northstar every weekend during the ski season (February and March). The slopes themselves are good and well maintained, and skiing here can be really enjoyable. However, the overall experience on weekends was extremely frustrating due to the crowds and parking situation. Everything becomes very overcrowded. Finding a place to sit anywhere in the village or lodges is almost impossible during peak hours. Parking is honestly the biggest issue. On weekends you need to reserve parking about a week in advance if you want to park there, and it’s paid until midday. Weekday parking is free, but it’s almost always full as well. Several times when we tried to enter the parking lot, employees were blocking the entrance saying it was full. What was frustrating is that while they were telling us this, multiple cars were leaving the parking lot at the same time, yet they still refused entry. This happened more than once and made the situation very upsetting. Unfortunately, the staff handling parking were also VERY rude in their interactions with us, which made the experience even worse. Overall, the skiing is nice, but the overcrowding and the poorly managed parking situation really take away from the experience.
Really great ski school; organized and easy check-in process kind and enthusiastix ski instructors who really took care of my kids. I was so stunned at how much progress they made after one full day lesson. Shout out to Dagny my 6yo was wondering why he "couldn't see her again or meet her on the shuttle the next day". Village was perfect for apres ski hanging out. Blues sometimes overgroomed with thin snow cover and were difficult to maneuver without chatter. No natural snow at time of my visit in Jan 2026. The little narrow side trails would have been so fun with more generous snow making but they were melted ajd refrozen and hard. No other complaints. So close and convenient to RNO airport and great local shuttle systems with door to door drops to many airbnbs within the resort? Great shuttle app!!! Easy free parking
