Powered by GoogleExtremely disappointed in the decision to close mid-week (April 13–17) right after a massive powder storm. As a loyal season pass holder, I expect the resort to honor the full season when conditions allow. We’ve had a tough year, and with a fresh blanket of snow and zero rocks on the Rose side, this week should have been a 'thank you' to dedicated locals. Instead, I put in for time off work for what would have been an epic bluebird powder day (we haven't had many this year), only to find the this Sunday that you were closing for this week. While Palisades and Kirkwood stay open to reap the benefits, Mt. Rose is leaving its most loyal customers out in the cold.
Visiting from Ohio we bought the beginner lesson. Price, positive reviews and established reputation is why we decided to pick Mt Rose. Great experience, parking attendants, front counter, boot fitting, ski selection, ski teachers (Bruce & Rick), lodge staff and gift shop employees were all super friendly, helpful and patient. My wife and I are 41, 47 and had a great time.
Really good mountain when everything is open The chutes are some of the most fun and difficult terrain in Tahoe The mountain is not usually crowded like northstar or palisades Skiing slide is good if chutes are closed
We have gone skiing in North Lake Tahoe a number of times but this is the first time that we have gone to Mount Rose. The drive to get to the resort is beautiful. You drive up though the mountains and the views are spectacular (everything was snow covered the day we went). It's a nice size resort. Not big like Northstar but not small either. The kids ski lessons and adult lift tickets were less expensive than many of the other resorts. The only issue that we ran into was that they require that the kids wear goggles. There were 4 kids in our group and we left their goggles back at the cabin. So I ended up shelling out an extra $140 for the kids. We put all 4 kids in the ski school and they had a blast. The magic carpet that takes the kids to the top of the hill is enclosed (first time I have ever seen that). The instructors were nice and were great with the kids. While the kids were with the instructors I got some skiing in. They had a lot of great wide open green and blue runs which was great for an intermediate skier like me. The food there was very good. I had some chili that was great and kids loved the chicken strips and fries. They had a locally brewed IPA there that was really good (forgot the name). The staff was really friendly and helpful. Overall our experience was great and would definitely go back (and make sure we bring the kid's goggles).
I loved my first snowboarding experience 🏂 Donny was excellent at explaining the basic things of this sport. Just gonna say that it will be better to wait until it really snows! The ground was hard and slippery 😬 which isn’t ideal for beginners Everyone at the mountain was very kind, helpful, and patient with everything else 🏂❄️☃️🥶
