This YMCA needs to update there gym equipment... They have a suicide bar in the gym for doing rows but do not have a slip bar to actually perform the workout. There assisted pullups machine was missing the slip lock. Their cable machine is out of date can't preform standing cable exorcises as you would with a newer machine, can't even perform single arm Cable rows due to the machines cable location... Would love this place if they invested more of there profits back into their gym. Modern equipment soon please.

This is the best gym for my family. My kids enjoy it every time we visit. God bless all the staff they are always very kind to us. They also offer free food at times, which is a wonderful support for low‑income families. Thank you all. In Christ’s love, Laxman and Family

My wife and I switched gyms to the YMCA North because the gym we were going to was a nightmare. Been going for a couple months now and we are not disappointed. Great place to work out. Clean, quiet, and their equipment is in great shape.

UPDATE: Today I am changing my review to four stars (from three). Katrina Nebel, Senior Director of Health and Wellness at the Y, reached out to me directly indicating that the issues with the equipment are being addressed. Then, Sean (one of the staff) was able to show me that the machine I thought was not working was because I didn’t know how to properly set it. As promised, I’m attaching photos of the other issues I had mentioned. Once those and similar items are remedied, I have no reason to think I won’t update my rating to five stars. ********** Seems to be a great place for families with young kids.Staff are generally welcoming and friendly. The facility is kept very clean overall, including the pool area, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and shower/changing areas. The upstairs weight machines, however, are outdated and not well-maintained. Several have been patched up with electrical tape, at least on one machine the exercise doesn’t work, and the back of the Leg Press seat has multiple rips in it. Is the location hurting for funds to maintain or replace machines? I’m rating 3 stars because I need strength training and the weight machine workouts are my primary reason for going.Next time I go I’ll take some photos.

Listen. I love this facility and have been a member off and on for 5 years. That being said, can we please increase the temperature in the family locker room? It is alarmingly freezing to the point that my teeth chatter because I’m actually shaking and shivering. I never complain and I’m not trying to be rude, but this is serious to me. It is literally freezing cold. When you go into the changing room after enjoying the pool it’s like you get hit with a huge freezing gust of wind. I am not trying to be rude. I have been going to the YMCA for five years.
