Courts could use a makeover, but staff is friendly and helpful.

Newman Tennis Center has that classic, lived-in feel you don’t get at newer facilities. You can almost picture the intense matches that have taken place here just by looking at the courts. There’s some wear from years of play, but it adds to the history and character of the place. A great spot for anyone who just loves the game of tennis. It has wheelchair access.

I love Newman but it was kind of sad to see the shape it's in. Doesn't look well maintained.

While the facility is fairly nice, the staff is extremely unprofessional. After paying for private lessons, my son attended one lesson. At the next scheduled visit, not only did the teacher, Ms. Margaret, not show, she informed the staff member who had to call her at home that she was tired and decided to take a few days off. Well, that’s simply unprofessional. The correct etiquette would have simply been to NOTIFY your client that you would not be able to attend and re- schedule. It’s rude and unprofessional to have us travel and wait for you, only to be told that you’re tired. Will seek private lessons elsewhere. UPDATE: Ms. Margaret contacted me and apologized for the schedule error and asked if my son could come in. She was extremely attentive and my son enjoyed the lesson. Communication is key!

This is a nice Tennis facility. My daughter played her first match today for Davidson Fine Arts High School. There are multiple courts and seating. If you want to social distance, bring your own chair. There is also a store to purchase items.
