Music Box Village in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans is New Orleans Airlift's interactive 'musical architecture' art site and concert venue, built from playable sonic-sculpture houses. Beyond concerts and residencies, it hosts a partner kids summer art-and-music camp (Camp X Camp / Art Camp 504) for children ages 6–12, using its air-conditioned schoolhouse. It functions as an arts venue that also hosts a youth summer camp.

We went for a MIT reunion and got to explore the place - it's a bit small but there are ample structures to explore for about 30 min - 1 hour and it's fun to catch up with people while climbing the treehouses. Live music was great! Downside was that some of the exhibits were broken, about 30% of them, so it felt like we only got a taste of what the place had to offer. The food was okay - I liked the breakfast buffet course they had there but it had a lot of cheese so it upset my stomach.

Lots of musical stuff to explore, a vintage (more like an “old stuff only”) warehouse in the back, a bar (drinks were very meh tho), clean bathrooms. A nice place to spend a couple hours relaxing if you are lucky to go when there are no kids running around. Otherwise if you go in noisy hours it would still be a cool place to hangout with a group of friends. I did think $25 entrance fee is pricy for what it is tho.
