Great place! Walking track, basketball courts, pickle ball, exercise classes, good exercise machines, not expensive

It’s like working out with family! Great instructors, clean facility and friendly staff

Mount Pleasant Community Center markets itself as a family-friendly, welcoming space and sells family memberships, but my experience tells a very different story. I specifically asked before joining if I could walk my baby in a stroller on the indoor track, and I was assured that it would be allowed. After purchasing a membership and visiting the facility the previous day with my stroller, I was told by a supervisor — abruptly and dismissively — that strollers are not allowed at all and that I “should have known what I signed up for.” Obviously there was a miss communication, but the supervisor chose to blame me and make me feel bad instead of taking accountability and showing concern for the matter to fix it. The reasoning given was that strollers block traffic. Yet walkers are allowed on the same track, often moving slower than a stroller would, which makes the rule inconsistent and unfair. The “alternative” offered — walking my baby on the basketball court — is extremely unsafe due to active play and risk of my infant getting struck by a basketball... What a joke!!! This is not a reasonable or family-friendly accommodation. I left the facility in tears, feeling excluded and unwelcome. If you are a mom or parent with an infant or young child, be aware: this facility does not provide a safe or inclusive environment for mothers and their little ones, despite what their marketing and messaging promise. Leadership needs to seriously reconsider policies and staff training if they want to genuinely be a family-centered community space.

Great facility for exercise, sports leagues for kids and adults, and plenty of open time for the gym. I go 2-3x a week for weights and elliptical workouts

I have reached my 10 year anniversary working out at this facility. The staff is friendly, the facility is well maintained and clean. The classes are well designed and the cost is much better than any other workout facility in the area.
