Every week, I go to Movefree Academy for parkour practice right after school. I always feel very excited to go learn something new! The class always begins with a warmup game. Then, we go into two different groups by age. Older kids go to the climbing course, and little kids go to run laps. I have amazing coaches like Tyler and Carson. The lead coach is Coach Kyle. The coaches teach us different moves. They reward us with tickets to buy prizes when we win group games, or do the right thing. At Movefree, there are lots of friends to talk to, play with, and to help me master the move. Everybody is nice, helpful, kind, and respectful. We have lots of fun together! As you can see, Movefree Academy is very welcoming. I recommend this parkour gym to whoever likes to try new things and have fun!

They have started hiring very young staff members who lack experience and are unable to keep younger children engaged in the classes. Without proper discipline and authority, the kids quickly lose focus and start doing other things instead of participating. Also, the age gap within a single group is very wide. There are kids who look about 10–12 years old and little ones who look no older than 6. You can’t run the same program for all of them—their focus, ability to concentrate, and physical capabilities are very different. Yet they are all placed in a single group that mostly serves the older kids. We think about leaving the place.

This place is great! My kids have been going here regularly for years, and have also had their birthday parties here the past two years. Kyle is fantastic, and exhibits an almost inhuman level of stoke that really engages the kids and gets them excited to move and learn. As someone who as also worked with kids for large parts of my career, I can really appreciate how on-point his group management skills are, and how he's able to keep the kids focused in activities that can easily turn chaotic. The gym gets rearranged every week, so nothing gets old, and the activities (speed course, climbing, skills challenges, boss battle, etc.) are always new and exciting. I have also taken a few adult classes, and as a 40-something who still likes to stay in shape, I can definitely recommend. This place is great for little kids up through teenagers and adults. I also like that you can sign up for a membership, buy a few classes at a time, or pay for a single class, so there's no commitment if you just want to check it out. If your kid is new to parkour, I would highly recommend the beginner class (on Monday?), as he starts by teaching the basic techniques so you have a foundation for the rest of the class, and really get more out of it. That being said, you can start at any of the classes and still have fun. If you or your kids might have any interest in Parkour, definitely check out MoveFree.

“Best week EVER!!!” said my 10 year old girl at pick up this afternoon after a week at parkour camp. Kyle and the rest of the Movefree coaching team create a thoughtful, inclusive, and safe environment for creative, imaginative DD/video game style battles Kids v. Boss (Coach) along with dynamically evolving parkour courses meant to safely teach the proper mechanics behind parkour. Kudos to Kyle and all the Movefree Coaching Staff! You hit it out of the park!

The atmosphere is so welcoming and supportive! My son loves every minute of each class. Skill building, character development and differentiated to meet the abilities levels of the students who arrive, the sessions are well planned and designed to keep kids engaged. My son's favorite part is the Boss Battle. He looks forward to the next part of the storyline each week and is working on his collaboration and leadership skills. We're huge fans of MoveFree Academy!
