Powered by GoogleMy son and I are from California and are in town for 1 night. We thought we would like to take a few swings before heading off to a tournament. I stumbled on Mound Time and decided to check it out. Trevor let us hit a bucket while he was giving a lesson. The place is spacious and really well laid out. If we lived in the area, we would be there all the time!
Coaches are role models for the athlete to follow in the competition arena and out. Well-developed coaches will understand their various roles as they pertain to their overall program. But at this place some coaches need help understanding their role. If you want your kid to have a coach that teaches them to disrespect their parents and insert themselves in family issues such as custody cases, this is the club for you. I had one of their coaches insult and harass me via text messages after I decided to pull my daughter out of the tournament for being disrespectful. I emailed and called him to notify him that my daughter would not continue playing in an out-of-state tournament because she broke my nose. She was throwing a temper tantrum and being disrespectful, and in that, she broke my nose. I ended up in the emergency room with a shattered nose. When I called him and explained the situation, he replied, "How did you contribute to this?" And he started gaslighting me and telling me that no parent will take their daughters out of a tournament for ANY reason. I explained to him that this was a family matter and it was not his place to question me. My job was to inform him why the player would not continue playing. This was no accident; my daughter threw that elbow with an intention. He proceeded to use explicit language towards me. I hung up the phone, and he continued to harass me via text messages while I was sitting in the emergency room. Completely unacceptable, unethical, and unprofessional behavior on his part. I find it extremely unprofessional that he, as a "coach," thinks he can be belligerent toward a parent sitting in an emergency room with a broken nose. As a matter of fact, with any parent. This was a family matter that this "coach" inserted himself. I have always been cordial and polite towards him. Although I know he and my ex-husband, who happens to be his assistant coach, have a personal friendship. Multiple times, I did not receive schedules or information related to the team, and I never blamed him as a coach for it. It took me five years to learn that he was using an APP to communicate schedules and games because my ex kept telling me all communication was via email, and he, as a coach, never mentioned the APP existed. Sure, this "coach" was upset that I pulled my daughter out of the tournament, but I'm her mother, and ultimately, I decide how to discipline her. Every parent there spent thousands of dollars, including me, to attend the tournament in CA, so it was a decision that I did not take lightly. However, my daughter's actions have consequences, and I won't reward that behavior. He has no right to insult me or question me. There is NEVER an excuse for coaches in a position of power to demean, embarrass, and humiliate a kid or a parent. NEVER! This is NOT education! This is NOT coaching. It is, instead, inexcusable behavior. Look at the pictures below of how I ended up. I guarantee that if I do something like this to my daughter, I will be in jail, and he, as a "coach," will be saying -how can I do that to her? Moundtime's response to my complaint about this coach- "So your daughter beat you up, that's the problem?" There is NO addressing of the coach's behavior whatsoever. Despite the fact I sent them all the coach's text messages. Moundtime owner clearly thinks this coach's behavior was acceptable, and saying in a demeaning way, "So your daughter beat you up," like it is something she should be proud of, tells me all I need to know as a parent to ABSOLUTELY not send my daughter to this place while she is with me. Maybe this review might come across as a crazy mom or mean ex-wife, but I guarantee you that if a school teacher were belligerent and used explicit language towards you in front of your kid, I would guess that you would be filing a complaint about that teacher and the school will do something.
What a sad club, they have to cheat to winner tournaments. Moving older kids down to lower divisions claiming kids were on vacation and just came back from championship games Duck taping numbers on the backs of non jerseys that kept falling off. Pretty pathetic for a plastic/wood trophy and banners. Shame on the parents of these kids to allow this club to teach there children cheating is okay.
Great facility and coaching
THE BEST baseball coaches around. Great for kids just starting to learn, up to advanced coaching to get into college and the pros.
