Mixxer Community Makerspace in Winston-Salem runs STEAM summer camps for students in grades 6-12, giving middle and high schoolers hands-on time in a maker space. Course options include video game design, coding with Python and Scratch, rocketry, drones, woodworking and metalworking, fashion design, printmaking and filmmaking. Mixxer partners with community organizations, and about half of its STEAM students receive significantly reduced tuition.
