City of Lafayette parks summer day camp for kids ages 6-11, running eleven weeks across the summer at the McAllister Recreation Center. Days run 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with free before-care from 7:30 and after-care until 5:30, and include games, crafts, movies, bowling, nature outings and field trips, with swimming twice a week at city aquatic facilities. The fee is $150 a week for the first two children and $120 for each additional child.

The huge climbing structure made me nervous with my little because he loves to climb, and this structure is meant for taller kids. This is NOT a negative, just something to be aware of. The big, wide open spaces next to the playground made for wonderfully creative play as well. We had a lot of fun with a playgroup that included kids from under 1 to 4.5.
