Mattie Rhodes Center is a Kansas City nonprofit whose cultural-arts program runs four-day summer art camps for children of all ages. Offerings include an Itty Bitty Art Camp for ages 3-5 (half-day) plus variety and teen art camps covering ceramics, painting, drawing, mixed media and cultural arts, held at its Westside cultural center. Scholarships are available.

★★R VGreat learning opportunities for the community. Dia De Muertos, artist events, community festivals and kids camps and more. However, communication is poor. We attended at pottery night March 2025. We waited several weeks before reaching out to find out when our work would be ready for pick up. No one has reached out nor responded to multiple attempts to contact them. We live an hour away so it's not easy to just drive up there and ask in person. Very disappointing.

They also had a stage with local artist and food trucks that had great options like tamales and corn on the cob. The inside had beautiful altars that were very cool and awesome art. Definitely recommend this place for any event!
