My family and I were scheduled to stay through 8/16 but checked out early on 8/12 after discovering a German roach infestation in our unit (195F). What we initially thought were beetles turned out to be roaches. After spotting them in the master bathroom, kitchen, coffee table area, and on counters, we inspected the kitchen more closely. Opening a drawer caused multiple roaches to scatter, and several more were visible behind the cabinetry. I brought evidence to the front desk and spoke with the manager, who seemed unfazed by the situation. She offered to move us to another area of the resort but admitted they could not guarantee the new unit would be roach-free. Her comment that they receive fewer complaints in the area they were going to move us to suggested the resort is aware of an ongoing pest problem. While waiting to speak with management, another family reported finding mice in their unit. They shared that this was not their first pest-related issue at the resort, having previously encountered mice and even bed bugs. Given the circumstances, we packed our belongings, left four days early, and drove home. Since returning, I've been washing and drying everything on high heat to avoid bringing pests into our home. The resort only refunded the unused resort fees, so I am disputing the remaining charges with my credit card company. This experience was unacceptable, and I would not recommend staying here.

I grew up going here every year with my family and this might be my last time. It has definitely gone downhill in quality and amenities. Barely any food options (absolutely no options for breakfast) and the ones they have are overpriced and underwhelming. The pools are nice but the hours are not great (they don't open until 11). The adventure park has some fun options, but it was terribly organized and spots fill up quick because the hours are limited. The waterpark is great, but honestly I'd prefer to stay off property and just pop over for a day at the waterpark at this point. Also, be warned if you have little ones, there are MANY people smoking weed, vapes, and cigarettes in public areas. And despite it being against the rules, security/staff do nothing about it, for example, we called about someone smoking at a playground while there were children playing (including my 1yo niece) and they sent someone, but the security officer just pulled into the parking lot then turned and left without doing anything. Overall, things are so overpriced for what they're worth. If it was a cheaper stay, maybe it'd be worth it for the waterpark, pool, and decent rooms.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay. The room felt severely outdated and poorly maintained. It had a noticeable unpleasant odor as soon as we walked in, and the balcony was in such poor condition that it seemed unsafe to use. The room itself looked like it hadn't been updated in decades. The bed had debris and what appeared to be crusty buildup around the headboard, which made it feel unclean. The furniture was scratched, worn, and looked like it had been dragged behind a truck. On top of that, the HVAC system was incredibly loud—it sounded like an 18-wheeler braking every time it ran, making it difficult to relax or sleep. The only positive part of the trip was that our schedule kept us out of the room most of the time. Considering how much I spent on this resort, I expected a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained room. Instead, it felt more like staying in a decades-old bingo hall than at a resort. By the end of the stay, I was genuinely worried about the cleanliness and found myself hoping I wouldn't end up dealing with bedbugs. Unfortunately, this experience did not come close to justifying the price, and I would not stay here again.

While the Massanutten area is beautiful and the rooms are great, everything costs a fortune. There is a ton of entertainment for families, but you will have to pay the exorbitant prices to experience any of it. The pools are free, but that's about it as far as free entertainment goes. Don't forget when visiting, this is a resort that caters to many timeshare owners, so you may be hassled for a "free demonstration and breakfast" at check in. I visited Massanutten as a preteen and remember the visit very differently than my most recent visit. The whole experience was kind of a bummer to be honest.

We were disappointed with our stay at Massanutten Resort. After driving 8 hours to get here, we were exhausted. We had just fallen asleep when the fire alarm went off, which was a very frustrating way to start our stay. The shower pressure was so strong that it actually hurt when the water hit your skin. The indoor water park was much smaller than we expected. There were only a few rides, and we finished everything in less than two hours. We were expecting activities that would keep the kids entertained much longer. The resort is very spread out, and everything requires driving, so it doesn’t have the relaxing, walkable resort atmosphere we were expecting. Considering the price, we didn’t feel the experience offered good value. Unfortunately, our kids found it boring, and we left feeling underwhelmed. The one highlight was the beautiful mountain views, which were peaceful and scenic. However, they weren’t enough to make up for the overall experience. Overall, we expected much more for the price.
