Camp By The Sea is the Katz JCC's summer day camp in Margate, serving children ages 2 through 16 across levels running from a preschool group (Shacar, ages 2-4) up through a Leaders In Training track for grades 9-10. Days include art, sports, free swim and water play, gaga, dance, music and Shabbat, with weekly trips to the beach for the grade-school and older groups. The camp is rooted in Jewish values and works to foster Jewish identity and culture in a program open to children from all backgrounds; four- and eight-week options are available for the youngest campers.

Powered by GoogleFacility is fine but they're constantly closed for holidays. For the price it's not worth it. Definitely not renewing here.
I can't say enough excellent things about the JCC Margate! My experience with their swimming lessons has been absolutely fantastic. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, always greeting everyone with a smile and making us feel welcome from the moment we walk in. The swimming instructors are skilled, patient, and truly invested in helping each student progress at their own pace. My both children have gained so much confidence in the water thanks to their expert guidance. I also want to give a special shoutout to Mike, the manager, and the team for being so accommodating with our schedule. They’ve gone above and beyond to make sure we could find lesson times that fit into our busy lives, which has made all the difference. If you're looking for a place where your child can learn to swim in a positive, supportive environment, JCC Margate is the perfect choice. We couldn't be happier with our experience!
Joined 3 years ago when I retired. One of the top 5 things we love about Margate. Fitness center has everything we need. Classes are fabulous as are the instructors. Great value. A very welcoming place 👍
I have been a member of the JCC off-and-on for years, and I will continue to be a member for a long time. The staff are all friendly, the facilities are always clean, and there are a great group of people that are members. From the gym to the pool, basketball courts, fitness classes, and social events, the JCC offers a ton of benefit for your membership dollars. My main use of the JCC is the gym, where you will find a ton of cardio equipment, a bunch of weight machines, and a good amount of free weights. At peak times you may have to wait for a weight machine or bench, but it is not usually an issue. Saturday mornings during the summer seem to be the worst time for this, but the rest of the time throughout the year you are good to go. The only knock I would give the gym is that when a piece of equipment breaks, it does take too long to fix. I don't know who they contract with to fix the equipment, but they are not timely in my opinion. Recently the backrest on the leg extension machine had a bolt that broke. This could have been removed with pliers, taken to Colmar to find a replacement, and fixed within the hour. It is about four weeks later, and it is still waiting for someone to replace a single bolt. That gets to be very frustrating. All-in-all, the JCC is a great place, and you will be happy to become a member.
JCC group fitness classes have provided me with not only great workouts but a consistent morning routine. If you are looking for the ultimate workout, you have to try Veronica’s Step and Sculpt class on Saturday mornings! 🏋️♀️
