Mad Science of Long Island runs half-day science-themed summer camps (three hours, with 9 a.m.–noon, 12:30–3:30 or 1–4 p.m. options) for grades 1–6 in East Meadow. Weekly themes include robotics, chemistry, flight and motion, forensics and space exploration, blending in-class discovery with hands-on building and engineering. Mad Science is a national franchise.

The instructors have a gift for taking complex scientific concepts and breaking them down into digestible, hands-on activities that truly stick. What really sets them apart is how conversational and engaging the staff are. They don't just lecture; they spark a dialogue, encouraging the kids to ask "why" and "how" while keeping the energy high and the atmosphere super approachable. Mad Scientist Cosmic Chris came in exactly on time, set up his own materials, advised us of the entire process, and even kept the parents entertained. He engaged all the kids (14 of them) with the parents, and set out safety expectations. As a physics teacher, he even surprised me with the very relatable experiments. We had the Fire and Ice component and the kids were over the moon. Cosmic Chris made sure each kid was acknowledged throughout the whole thing. Many of the kids had ideas of what was going to happen and he kept them guessing! The finale was awesome! It wasn't just a show; it was an awesome educational experience where the kids actually learned the 'magic' behind the experiments. We fully endorse Cosmic Chris and the entire team and process and our daughter and her friends had a blast! Thank you very much!

She has a great personality and sense of humor that kept all 12 kids ages 3-10 entertained the whole time. She was very interactive with the kids and they loved getting to try out the experiments themselves. And ofcourse, they loved the slime making at the end! Not only did the kids love it, but the adults too. If you’re looking for a different yet entertaining party idea, mad science is the way to go. Highly recommend.
