Low Tide Arts
Private
Low Tide Arts is a nonprofit community art studio in West Seattle running week-long summer art camps for kids and teens in drawing, painting, printmaking and collage. Campers make art in the studio, walk to nearby wooded parks and beaches, and take a field trip downtown to the Seattle Art Museum; the 2026 focus is printmaking, mixed-media collage and making DIY art supplies. The studio opened in 2024 and also teaches classes and workshops for adults.

Powered by GoogleI'm 51 y.o. and had never taken an art class before my 6 week session with Low Tide Arts. I was really nervous to try and Kim has been nothing but kind and encouraging. If she's this wonderful with adults, I'm certain she is with kids as well. Her studio is warm and friendly, and has an inclusive vibe. She really knows her craft well, but is able to meet you where you are as a student at any level. I highly recommend!
Kim is an amazing, gentle, patient teacher who gives great feedback and helps you keep going if you get stuck. She is also very popular with kids!
I participated in an intro watercolor class on a rainy Saturday morning. There were 6 students ranging in age from 9 to 65; Kim did a masterful job (re-)introducing us to basic techniques, opening space for experimentation, and provided useful and encouraging feedback along the way! So fun!
This studio has quickly become my favorite place! I am an amature artist at best and was really craving some peaceful time where I could zone out and create. Kim has created a really welcoming space for artist of any age and level, and I personally have been utilizing the drop in adult classes. So far, I got to experiment with watercolors and pastels and next up is printmaking! It has been exactly what I needed and I can't wait to sign up for more!
What an inviting and welcoming space! I had the opportunity to stop by for an event and cannot wait to come back for an art class. It’s thoughtfully organized and stocked for children and adults alike. It’s clear the founders have put a lot of care into crafting a warm community hub. Thank you!
