Loveland Baseball Association is a youth baseball organization in Loveland that runs recreational, intermediate and competitive leagues with a stated mission of supervised baseball for local youth built around sportsmanship, teamwork and respect. Its intermediate and competitive tracks operate through Power Alley Baseball, a nonprofit travel program of 8U to 14U teams open to any child in Northern Colorado; intermediate teams play in the Longmont league plus a few tournaments (roughly 20-30 games) and competitive teams form by tryout each July and play 30-60 games statewide, at a cost of about $1,600 including winter workouts, uniforms and facilities. Participation is by season registration or tryout rather than camp enrollment.

★Mr. GuyTheir Rec league is a popularity contest to say the least. Be very weary of signing up they treat the rec league as if it was competitive league. Ive never heard of a rec league having tryouts before. Thats just insanity also theres no guarantee your kid will play even if they make a team. I encourage people to go through the Fort Collins rec program or berthoud as berthoud affiliates with Fort Collins instead of LBA. With them your kid is guaranteed to play multiple positions throughout the season. Whoever is in charge of the LBA needs to step down and let someone in who understands the meaning of a rec league in so they can bring the fun back to the kids who are wanting to just have fun.

★Harold JohnsonI would be very wary of this organization, no pitch count rules, such as Little League. No thought goes into the scheduling of games. Nor a timely manner of publishing the schedule so families can plan their vacations. Some teams have multiple back to back games while some teams have none. No thought on scheduling multiple 5pm start time games in a the work week which puts a strain on working parents to get their kids to the game. No risk mitigation processes when the heat index gets into the danger category. The batter boxes need to filled in and leveled.
★BennyAbsolutely shameful! League rules for 12U! Watching kids walk, then steal their way around the bases. Is not teaching ANYONE to play baseball!! And as if that’s not bad enough they can steal first base after a dropped third strike!!! Laughable.. 80% of the pitches are dropped or passed balls at this age group. Last game was 12 runs on 3 hits. 10 walks. 3 strikeouts that became base hits because of a dropped third strike Some coach actually barked at me from the field that his team “earned” his runs. Terrible perception of what earned is in the league. Take away the stealing and free bases at this age and take time to teach fundamental baseball! No one is learning how to play the game! In this league.
