Little Learners Outdoors is a fully outdoor, nature-based program in Baton Rouge that runs summer camps for children ages 3–12, with three camps for younger children ages 3–8 and two for ages 8–12. Days are spent outdoors hiking, fishing, playing, and exploring, in a learner-centered style inspired by Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Waldorf approaches. It also operates a nature preschool for ages 3–6.

★★★★★Kylie BranchMy 5 year old has his first real party and it was everything he wanted. It was a cold cold day, but they did everything to have everything we needed. The kiddos played inside to save the outside cold for the end of the party. Had heaters to keep the patio area comfortable. Everyone including the adults had a great time. Couldn’t have had a better experience…well maybe it not being 38 degrees lol but that’s what happens when you have a January birthday. The kids played in the cold and water and didn’t seem to bother them. They had everything the kiddos needed, down to suits and waterproof gloves. Thank you so much. We can’t wait to go back

He plays with loose parts and gets to practice gross motor skills too. Being able to play freely in nature is so good for the littles’ development, and he has learned so much from Shelley and her gentle guidance. He only sees her a couple times a month but he is always super excited to greet her and follows her around, a testament to what a wonderful educator and person she is. Her property backs up to Forest Community Park and you can walk the trail to the creek, learning all about the plants, bugs and animals on the way. Highly recommend.
