Powered by GoogleElisabeth does an outstanding job with her dance students. I have loved watching my child thrive, gain confidence, improve her strength, and grow in her dance skills. Elisabeth’s musicality, technique, and encouragement help dancers reach their full potential. As a former dancer, I am impressed by the quality of instruction. I highly recommend Linda Watkins School of Dance!
We could not be happier with our experience at LWSD. My son and daughter have danced here for the past 5 years and we have found it to be an incredibly rewarding experience. The things that are important to our family are having well qualified instructors who are teaching foundational dance technique while also keeping it fun and age appropriate, a dance community that promotes teamwork, kindness, and healthy habits, good communication and excellent consistency. LWSD has checked all those boxes and we have seen consistent growth in our dancers, who have been able to learn and grow with the same staff all 5 years. They do offer competitive company classes as well as non competitive classes and I have felt both have offered excellent training for our children. We have not felt pressured to compete or that our children would receive less attention or instruction if they chose not to pursue that option. I would chose this studio time and time again!
We have attended a number of dance schools in several cities, and by far this is the warmest, most welcoming environment you could ever hope for at a dance studio. The culture is one of support, respect, and hard work. After attending my youngest daughter's first recital my older daughters both decided they wanted to dance for this studio as well. The instructors are encouraging and want to develop each dancer regardless of their starting level or experience. This past year my daughter was on the competition team, and I was happy (but not surprised) that the other team parents were as lovely and welcoming to me as their daughters were to my dancer. The director, Elisabeth, cultivates an environment that encourages everything that is wonderful about dance, from dance technique to the idea of having a dance family. Even the older dancers from other classes made my younger daughter feel like she was important her first year there. I recommend giving LWSD a try if anyone is looking for a positive dancing experience.
All 3 of my daughters have danced at this studio over the last 15 years. 2 of my girls participated on the dance team. The studio, the recital, the competitions, the dancers, the teachers and classes have all brought our family wonderful memories! It is a positive and constructive environment and has taught my girls many life lessons in addition to encouraging their passion for dance. The studio along with Elisabeth Burton have become a home away from home! Your child will be in good hands and learn a lot from the Linda Watkins School of Dance
I have had three daughters attend LWSD over the past 10 years. My youngest is still a student and member of the competition team. The instructors provide a warm environment for the students to learn and thrive and the recital is always wonderful. My daughter can’t wait to go to dance each week. Highly recommend!
