We attend rather infrequently. We need to go all the time. Overall, the staff are generally helpful and respectful. It's a good place to visit for one's overall health, for sure!!

I write this review with pain and regret in my heart. I was advised to sign up at YMCA to get trained, which I did. I met the director of swimming, Chris for a one-on-one because I expected nothing short of professionalism, efficient, and effective training session, but what I experienced was the opposite. The metal rails by the steps into the pool was an eyesore with the black dirts sticking on them. I felt like puking. Chris's attention was divided into multiple activities, rather than actually teaching me how to swim. No decorum, very loquacious, nothing closed to respect for people's time, and goal. He was busy talking to virtually all the trainers, & life guards one after the other, he was discussing payroll, also double dipping by teaching someone else during my supposed time, talking about Pizza, talking to folks watching from the top building, and less time to teaching and impacting knowledge. The worst of all was his dehumanizing comment: "oh you don't know how to swim yet you chose to go this route?" I left the pool and decided never will I return there to train. I started watching youtube videos, and most folks who went for swimming classes said they initially went to YMCA but still struggling as they do not yet know how to swim. With the poor experience I had with Chris, I see why people would go for better swim classes after wasting their money and time. I found a better trainer who has knowledge of how to really do the teaching, by explaining all techniques in detail, exude professionalism, and understands what one-on-one classes stands for. Quality is all that matters, which is why I have decided to travel out of state to learn how to swim in 4days.

I enjoy this gym. The exercise facility is exactly what I need. And the workers I’ve encountered are kind. Yes, it’s not like the Haverford Y or Rocky Run that can fundraise and update their facility as they see fit. But it’s great for Lansdowne. For those complaining who want improvements, join and contribute to fundraising!

As a member who has been going to have Haverford YMCA for 6+ years I am deeply saddened to say that this was a horrible experience. Everything there is extremely outdated. There is a mildew scent in the pool area/locker room The tiles are chipping, etc.. The pool had dust at the bottom of it. The pool was warm and a bunch of kids have been peeing in it. It was an absolute disgrace. The staff, however I think her name was star. She was incredibly sweet and nice and hard-working. She deserves a raise.

Very nice facility I love the gym and the pool, the staff here are very nice too especially the ones that work in the gym, they have a pretty good selection of equipment in the gym as well, from weights/dumbbells, ellipticals, treadmills, bikes and plenty of other equipment for a good work out. I’ve never tried any of the exercise classes but i would definitely like to soon.
