Powered by GoogleI go out of my way to go to this Y for the steam sauna, the last time I went an Asian male spit in the sauna, I immediately got out and told a lifeguard, on duty which did nothing. Unfortunately I won't be back anytime soon.
Very nice YMCA with a great pool area for kids. Small hot tub and a standard lap pool. Check the lap pool schedule before going so you don't get in during classes. First time visitors will have trouble finding the entrance as I did, due to the way the building has been added on to over the years. The staff is helpful and friendly.
Had a customer service experience today that left a sour taste. I called to ask a very simple question, whether lockers come with locks. The employee on the phone said they weren’t sure and that membership would know. Membership sits right next to the front desk, yet the employee seemed reluctant to ask, even though this could have been clarified in a few seconds. Instead, I was told to come in and ask membership myself. That defeats the entire purpose of calling, especially when I specifically needed to know before coming in because I had a backpack that would require a locker. Why would I come to the facility just to potentially turn around and leave if there wasn’t a lock available? This was a basic customer service task that should have been handled over the phone. Very disappointed with the lack of effort, front desk staff should do more than just sit there and redirect responsibility
I want to begin by saying that we’ve had wonderful experiences with the staff, and my son absolutely LOVES the Stay and Play area. It’s such a valuable resource—it allows him to socialize and play while my husband or I get some work done or squeeze in a workout, all while staying in the building. That said, we’ve run into some ongoing challenges with accessing other amenities. Despite checking the schedule in advance, we’ve only been able to use the pool for Family/Open Swim a handful of times in the past six months. We’ve since learned to call ahead, as the pool may be listed as “open” but unavailable due to the absence of a lifeguard. Even when we do call, we often have to specifically ask whether a lifeguard is on duty, as the staff we speak with are referencing the same schedule we are. The water works/channel also seem to never be open when we do attend, and other members have told us they also notice on their visits its almost never on despite the schedule noting when they will be turning it on. I don’t mind calling ahead when needed, and we completely understand that things happen from time to time—staffing issues, maintenance, or unexpected closures. However, this has become a very consistent, ongoing issue. It’s frustrating to have to worry about whether amenities will actually be available—especially when we’re paying a monthly fee with the expectation that all advertised features are accessible. We truly enjoy being part of the community, and we appreciate the friendly staff and the Stay and Play experience for our son. (Which again, he absolutely loves, and we are so appreciative of the staff who watch him) However, due to the continued inconsistency and lack of reliability with key amenities, we’re considering canceling our membership. We hope these concerns can be addressed so that families like ours can fully benefit from everything the facility is intended to offer.
Thinking of a pool party, Lansdale Y is your go to place!! Recently we had our daughter’s birthday party. She asked for a pool party and Lansdale Y was great in accommodating our big party. Mr. Ian Dillard our party associate from Lansdale Y is awesome. He helped us in every step to make this party a wonderful memory for our family. All kids not only loved to have a splash in the pool but also had a blast with Mr. Ian Dillard when he volunteered as a dance DJ. All parents loved our party and praised Ian’s energy levels are remarkable. Everybody had so much fun. Thank you Ian and Lansdale Y.
