The Lake Winnipesaukee Sailing Association (LWSA), a nonprofit sailing-education school founded in 1988 in Gilford, runs a youth Learn-to-Sail program for ages 8–16 of all abilities on Lake Winnipesaukee. Kids are grouped by age and ability and sail Optis, Teras and Fevas, learning rigging, points of sail and basic seamanship across weekly sessions.
