My son was delighted to attended camp at Quinebarge for 2-weeks in August 2025. He was 9 years old at the time and it was his first time away from home other than an occasional sleepover. We chose the camp solely based on the positive Google reviews and then my subsequent conversation with Nick Hercules (director), who made me feel like it would be a good fit. We wanted a traditional camp with all fun and games and no technology, and Quinebarge fit the bill. To say that our experience was positive would be an understatement. Not only did we have the opportunity to occasionally see happy pictures of him along with way via the camp's internal posts for parents (which helped with our own anxieties), but when we finally picked him up - he begged to go back for the whole summer next year! We have now compromised and instead of sending him for the whole summer, we are sending his sister and his best friend to join him for a term! The boy is all about recruiting people to the wonders of Quinebarge. We could not be happier. Thank you Nick H and staff for making this possible for our family.

Camp Quinebarge – A Stewart Family Testimonial From our three campers: “It’s a truly magical and fun place with great activities and kind counselors, 15/11 stars.” – T, Age 12 “Camp Quinebarge is a wonderful place and I have happy tears every time I think about it, it feels like home and goodness.” – B, Age 10 “A lot of happiness, a lot of fun, and exciting cool things are at Camp Quinebarge and I feel lucky to go there.” – H, Age 8 From us, the parents: Camp Quinebarge is more than a summer camp. It is a tradition and a community that has been nurtured since 1936 on the shores of Lake Kanasatka in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. Rooted in kindness, friendship, and fun, it carries forward a spirit that has touched generations of families. This is a place built from the ground up and lovingly sustained by Eric Carlson, Lesley Marcus Carlson, and many others who have given their time and care. Moultonborough itself is a hidden gem tucked perfectly between the shores and summits of the White Mountains, with the lake as its backdrop, it offers an ideal setting for children to grow, explore, discover themselves, and just be. With a little nurturing in nature, it is no surprise to see campers walk away with a true sense of self. In a world that is digitally connected, Camp Quinebarge restores children’s souls to the roots of themselves and the natural world. It serves as a reminder of the meaning behind true friendship, the goodness in the world and restores faith in the healing power of human connection and kindness transcending. Camp Quinebarge is defined by a commitment to excellence, ensuring that every child has equity in the chance to thrive in an environment of care, adventure, and lasting connection. If you are lucky enough to find this gem, look no further. – Meg Stewart P.S. We are grateful as well to HERC, whose thoughtful support helps make each child (and parents!) experience personal and memorable.

My children attended the camp in 2019 and loved it. The camp had to overcome some struggles after COVID. This summer I sent my 12 year old son for a month and he loved it! He had a great time. Nick and another counselor were super helpful in comforting Ethan when he was a bit homesick. I think they do a great job. 👏 Ethan will be back next summer and he is bringing 2 friends!

My daughter just returned from her second summer at Camp Quinebarge and had another amazing experience. She made so many new friends and loved the wide variety of activities—horseback riding, tubing, arts and crafts, drama, and more. The camp really fostered her independence, which was wonderful to see. We also really appreciated how careful and attentive they were about her food allergies. Highly recommend Quinebarge for a fun, supportive, and memorable summer!

Wonderful summer sleep away camp! My 12 yr old daughter is returning to Camp Quinebarge for her 3rd year this summer. We were both a little nervous the first year, and the staff and directors were very helpful with making it the best experience for both of us! My daughter talks about CQ all year now, and she can’t wait to return this summer! She has made meaningful friendship bonds each year, and I notice an increase in her self confidence after each camp year. The camp directors are always available to you as the parent through email, which was extremely appreciative (especially when it is your first time sending your child to sleep away camp). The counselors are caring and fun, and my daughter even keeps in touch with them during the year! Some of the buildings need updating but it truly is the quintessential summer camp. I highly recommend it!
