Katy Tennis Academy runs summer tennis classes on the Beckendorff Junior High courts, grouped by level: beginners ages 5 to 8, intermediate 9 to 13, and advanced 11 to 17. Groups meet Monday through Friday for 90 minutes — 8 to 9:30 a.m. or 6 to 7:30 p.m. for beginner and intermediate players, and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for the advanced group — billed at $185 to $200 per week or $370 to $400 for a three-week session. Sessions cover stroke mechanics, coordination and competition drills, singles and doubles strategy, match play and team building, and each camper receives a camp T-shirt.

Powered by GoogleAs a parent, I decided to bring my child to this academy with high expectations, as I was promised a structured program and quality coaching. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. What was offered at the time of enrollment was not delivered. During the sessions, I noticed that the coaches were not correcting the kids or working on fundamental technical aspects. There was no real teaching or individualized attention. Rather than a tennis academy, it felt more like a childcare service on the court. It is concerning to see that the main focus appears to be collecting payment rather than truly developing the players. This is unfortunate, because tennis requires discipline, technique, and professional guidance — none of which were clearly present here.
My son started group class summer of 2025. This school has blossomed his passion for tennis. Thank you
My son started tennis lessons this last semester, and he loves it! His game is improving, and we appreciate the responsiveness and flexibility from the team of coaches. They do a wonderful job!
Both my boys had the best learning experience at Katy Tennis Academy and my youngest went on to play for his junior high as well as high school tennis teams. Coach Andres is patient, kind, and great with kids which the other instructors mirror him and his training methods. The kids have fun and learn tennis at the same time, amazing! Summer camp and after school lessons make a significant difference with KTA, especially if you want you child to try out in school athletics.
My son has been playing at Katy Tennis Academy for over two years now & I couldn't be happier with his progress. He started as a beginner and has now advanced to the Advanced level, thanks to the excellent coaching and support he has received. Coach Andres Quijano is fantastic, providing excellent coaching and support. The academy has a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a professional and nurturing tennis environment.
