Powered by GoogleOne thing that has meant a lot to our family at Karter has been the presence of teachers like Jillian in the Geneva classroom. She has been consistently kind, thoughtful, and caring with our daughter, and it is obvious that she genuinely loves working with children. Our daughter adores her. Jillian is the kind of teacher parents hope for when they entrust a school with their child. She helps create the feeling that a child is safe, known, and cared for, which is what matters most. She has shown that kind of care toward our daughter for a long time, including before she was even officially in her classroom. It is very easy to understand why her classroom is so highly requested by families. Jillian is the reason. Strong schools are built on strong teachers, and Jillian is exactly the kind of teacher families remember and appreciate.
We absolutely love Karter School of Thornton! Ms. Jessica and Ms. Nayeli are phenomenal teachers who create a curriculum-focused learning environment filled with love, consistency, and intention every single day. You can truly see how much they care about each child’s growth and development. The school offers an amazing variety of enrichments that nurture children of all abilities, and the monthly events are always so fun for families. We’ve even built friendships with other families through the community the school fosters, which has been such a gift. Every staff member and leader we’ve encountered has been warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. We are incredibly grateful that our daughter attends a school that provides so many opportunities for learning, development, and meaningful engagement for both children and families. Highly recommend Karter School of Thornton!
I recently came across a few parent reviews here that was difficult to read, so I wanted to share our family's experience to provide additional perspective for future parents considering this school, in support of the school. Our experience at Karter has been very positive. The school is open to direct communication, and I've seen examples of staff working closely with families to create individualized transition plans and additional support strategies when needed. The teachers are caring and attentive, and the program is thoughtfully structured. Children rotate throughout the day between indoor and outdoor classrooms, specialty spaces, and enrichment areas - something we see as a major strength of the program and one of the reasons we chose this school. Like any community, not every experience will be the same for every family. However, based on what we've seen, the school is well-run, responsive, and genuinely committed to supporting children's growth. Our child is happy here and we feel confident in our decision to enroll.
Our daughter has been attending this daycare for ~8 months in the infant rooms and we could not be happier. I am a little surprised by some of the negative reviews as, while some of it I can see from both perspectives, I have never felt my child was unsafe or that their meals were not nutritious. I’m constantly impressed by the meals my daughter gets and by the schools communication via the ProCare app when sickness is noticed in a room or any incident happens that needs attention from all parents. I also have not noticed much teacher turnover, at least on the Littles side of the building, and could not be happier with Ms. Emily and Ms. Han in Rome. It is evident they truly love all their kiddos and treat them as their own. Even the roaming teachers, like the wonderful music teacher Ms. Dez, are absolutely incredible with the babies. Our daughter is so happy to go to school every day and it has been so rewarding watching her develop much faster than anticipated. Yes it’s definitely a premium cost facility, but in my opinion it has been well worth the cost.
The Karter School of Thornton has been an absolute blessing for our family. From the moment you walk in, the school feels safe, clean, welcoming, and full of warmth. Administration—Melissa, Cathyann, and Julie—set the tone every single day. They are always caring, attentive, and incredibly receptive. They know exactly what is happening throughout the school at all times, and you can truly feel how much they care about every child and every family that walks through the doors. My daughter began her journey in the Infant classroom with Ms. Raquel and Ms. Sarah, and as a first-time mom, leaving my baby was incredibly difficult. But these two made the transition more comfortable than I ever imagined possible. They treated my daughter with such tenderness, patience, and love that I felt at ease from day one. I’m forever grateful for the foundation they provided her. She then moved into the toddler room with Ms. Monica and Ms. Melissa, where she continued to learn, grow, and thrive. She absolutely adored Spanish with Ms. Monica—we still have to stop by her classroom every day just so my daughter can say goodbye. It’s one of her favorite parts of the day, and it says so much about the bond they built. Now she is in Ms. Bryana and Ms. Jillian’s class, and I truly could not be happier. They are both incredibly sweet, patient, and attentive to my daughter’s needs. Their classroom management is wonderful, and I can tell my daughter feels secure and understood in their care. Every morning, she gets excited to “go to friends,” which brings me so much joy as a parent. One of the things that truly sets Karter apart is their impressive Montessori-inspired curriculum paired with their added enrichment programs. My daughter has blossomed academically, socially, and emotionally. The hands-on learning, independence-building activities, Spanish enrichment, music program, sensory work, and creative lessons have helped her grow in ways I never expected at such a young age. People often comment on how advanced she is, and I credit so much of that to the intentional teaching and structure and learning at Karter. Even meals are thoughtfully planned. The balanced and nutritious menu gives me so much peace of mind—fresh foods, colorful options, and well-rounded plates that support healthy eating habits early on. One of my favorite things about Karter is the communication. Throughout the day, you receive pictures, videos, meal updates, restroom updates, and overall notes on how your little one is doing. It brings so much peace of mind and makes us feel connected even while we’re apart. Karter has truly become our home away from home. My daughter is loved, supported, and absolutely thriving—and for that, I am forever grateful. We love Karter just as much as she does!
