The Junior Center of Art and Science is an Oakland nonprofit offering full-day, arts-integrated summer camps for young artists, makers and thinkers ages 6-17. Professional artists and educators lead hands-on projects spanning carpentry, game design, comics, painting, mixed media, science and engineering in an inclusive, wheelchair-accessible setting. On-site camps run on a sliding scale with a no-one-turned-away-for-lack-of-funds policy.

There's a play room, classrooms, art gallery, Library, animal Discovery room with live animals to experience. They offer summer camps and after school programs. The activities have all kinds of creative artistic themes like comic book making, woodworking, making a play and many other awesome ideas. It's centrally located in Oakland with with reasonably good parking around. Highly recommend.
