Joy Gymnastics, an independent gym at Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, runs summer camp Monday-Friday through July and August for ages 4.5-12 (campers must be potty trained). Through the day campers rotate between gymnastics classes, art time, and cooperative movement and non-movement group games, with part of the day held outdoors in the courtyard when weather and air quality allow. Guardians provide snacks and lunch, and campers need an active annual membership ($40 per child) to enroll; timeslots are booked online. The gym was founded to be a place where students can take part regardless of age, body type, gender, ethnicity or capability, and it also runs mini camps on school days off.
