Sailing center at the south end of the Chautauqua Institution grounds that serves as the home base for Chautauqua's Sailing Department and its one-week sailing courses on Chautauqua Lake. The curriculum runs from novice to advanced and is open to ages 8 and up, youth through adult: children ages 8-12 sail 8-foot Optimist dinghies while teenagers move up to Sunfish. Beyond the structured week-long classes, the department runs sailing sessions for Boys' & Girls' Club participants, guided sailing excursions for families and small groups, and individualized private lessons.
