The Erie Yacht Club's Reyburn Sailing School offers community youth sailing programs on Lake Erie for children ages 6-17 (adult classes too). Eight-week classes are grouped by age and boat: Opti Tots (6-8, evening), an all-day Opti Day class (8-12), and Beginner/Advanced 420 and Adventure J22 keelboat day classes (10-18), emphasizing safety, teamwork, and fun. Instructors are US Sailing, CPR, and First Aid certified, and the program is open to the whole community, not just members.

★★★★Joni TrostI would say it deserves a 5 if the weather was good all year long. The bay is a good place to sail. The wide channel out of the bay goes to Lake Erie and is connected to the world. Lake Erie can be a great place to start an adventure. No salt, no jellyfish, sharks, alligators or other wild life in the water that can challenge your day. Fresh water has a few advantages. You can find some warm days in the summer and find the beginning of fall to be crisp. It's nice to enjoy the weather as it changes with the seasons. The lighthouse on the state park is interesting with nature trails going into the park. In the city with a great history you can find multiple things to do.
