Powered by GoogleWe went swimming on a Saturday. We were the last to leave the pool. The doors were locked shortly after. The kids changed in the boys and girls locker room. My granddaughter left her Barbie Stanley cup, her towel and her 2 piece swim suit in the girls locker room. We left the building at 5:50-5-55, they close at 6pm. The pool closed at 5:30. We returned to the YMCA (Jeep Rodger’s location before they opened on Sunday, (1pm) to check the locker room. It was not there. We check the lost and found. Of course it was never turned in. I called everyday that week and it never appeared. Very disappointing. No one knows who cleaned the girls(age6-14) locker rooms that night?? Sure. I know the YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. But it should make a difference if it was an employee.
The staff has always been very pleasant and professional. That being said every time we go here we end up very sick. The staff that watch your kids for different programs need to go home if they are sick instead of forcing us to sign in/out everyday on a dirty disgusting tablet. That is very inconsiderate to all the people that come here.
As a longtime Blythewood resident and parent who’s deeply invested in our community’s child care options, I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with the Rodgers YMCA child care program. What started as a promising place for my kids quickly turned into a nightmare due to glaring issues in leadership and management. From the outset, the unprofessionalism was evident. The program lacks clear structure, with staff often seeming disorganized and unprepared for daily activities. But what really crossed the line were the inappropriate interactions I witnessed between leadership and employees flirty banter and favoritism that created a tense, uncomfortable environment. It felt more like a high school clique than a professional child care setting, and that’s just not acceptable when our kids’ well-being is at stake. Parents, please think twice before enrolling here. Take your kids elsewhere there are better, more reliable options in the area that prioritize professionalism and a positive atmosphere. I pulled mine out after just a few weeks, and I regret not doing it sooner. Our community deserves better for its families.
This facility does not meet my cleanliness standards for a fitness facility, especially for one where children frequent. There were no wipes available in the group fitness classes and no one was wiping down equipment. I had a stomach virus shortly after one of my classes here - I can’t say for certain I got it here but that combined with what I observed made me not want to go back. Also I know they are a Christian organization now, but I did not realize this when I signed up. I do not feel comfortable working out in a Christian based environment due to negativity I have experienced from the church and Christians.
We ended up canceling our family membership mainly bc the child watch program isn't good. They kept saying my 2 year old was bad and they look miserable working there. I didn't trust them after 3 times complaining about him. He's literally a toddler. Now we are at a different gym and they say my 2 year old is so good and he's so much happier during the short stay. Also the music in the cycling class is for old people and awful music.. This gym is mainly for the older crowd. (Onelife fitness is so much better and so is the child watch) thanks.
